The district of Volkmarst is located in the extreme southwest of the municipality of Basdahl and borders in the west on the district of Cuxhaven and the district of Kirchwistedt of the municipality of Beverstedt . Volkmarst is located about 5 km north of Kuhstedt , about 3 km east of Kirchwistedt, 7 km south of Hipstedt and 3 km southwest of Basdahl and 3 km northeast of Brillit . The federal road 71 runs through the local area .
