Richard Friedländer

Richard Friedländer (born March 14, 1867 in Opole , Upper Silesia , † December 29, 1929 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German entrepreneur and politician.

Life

He was the son of the Jewish brewery owner and Council President Siegfried Friedländer (1825–1899). Friedländer married Johanna Frankenstein in Opole around 1900 and had three sons Werner, Wilhelm and Fritz with her.

Friedländer was involved in a wide variety of entrepreneurial activities. In Opole, for example, he was the owner of the castle brewery inherited from his father, owner of a cement factory and co-owner of other companies. In the mid-1920s he moved from Opole to Berlin-Charlottenburg. There he was politically active in Berlin as chairman of the German National People's Party (DNVP).
