Richard Hamilton (classical philologist)
Richard Hamilton (born December 19, 1943 in Bryn Mawr ) is an American classical philologist .
Life
He graduated from the Harvard University AB in 1965 and at the University of Michigan the Ph.D. (Classics) 1971. He teaches at Bryn Mawr College as an assistant professor, associate professor 1971–1988 and since 1988 Paul Shorey Professor of Greek. Hamilton was Founder and Senior Editor of the Bryn Mawr Classical Review and Founder of the Bryn Mawr Commentaires .
His research interests are Greek literature ( Hesiod , Pindar ), Greek religion and iconography ( Anthesteria ).
