Richard Haupt (born November 1, 1882 ; † unknown) was a German football player.

Career

Haupt began playing football at BFC Hertha 92 together with his two years younger brother Otto in 1899 , initially in the Berliner Ballspielvereine , and from April 29, 1911 in the Brandenburg Ballspielvereine as the umbrella organization for all football clubs from Berlin and the province of Brandenburg.

The brothers won their first regional title at the end of the 1905/06 season ; with one point ahead of BFC Preussen they became Berlin champions . With this success, they and their club were also qualified as participants in the final round of the German championship . About the quarter-finals won 7-1 against SC Schlesien Breslau in Dresden on April 29, 1906 - with the Herthan brothers' second pair of brothers, Julius and Max Haase - they reached the semi-finals scheduled for May 6, 1906 in Berlin . In a closely contested game against VfB Leipzig - against which Richard Haupt scored the 2-2 goal - they lost 3-2 to the eventual German champions.

He remained loyal to his club until 1919, although he played his last league game on the last match day of the 1917/18 season in a 3-1 away win over BFC Preussen, until then he was three times Berlin champion. With the ongoing First World War , he was denied further finals for the German championship because none were played.
