Richard Jacques (born April 2, 1973 in Leamington Spa , England ) is a British composer who mainly writes video game music .

biography

Richard Jacques began composing music as a child. He later studied at the Colchester Institute School of Music and the Wells Cathedral School . After graduating with a Bachelor's degree from the Royal Academy of Music in 1995 , he began working as a composer for Sega Europa a short time later . He began for the computer players Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island and Sonic R , each based on the character Sonic , to compose music with greater influences from Eurodance , Jazz and Power Pop . Since then, Jacques has been responsible for the music of games such as Starship Troopers , Mass Effect and, most recently, LittleBigPlanet 2 . Occasionally he also composed music for commercials and television shows.
