Richard Kelly (director)
James Richard Kelly (born March 28, 1975 in Newport News , Virginia ) is an American director , screenwriter and producer .
Life
Richard Kelly is a graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Cinema Arts .
Kelly had his first major success in 2001 with his first major film Donnie Darko , which became a cult film . His second film Southland Tales , in which Sarah Michelle Gellar , Seann William Scott and Kevin Smith can be seen, among others , ran in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 . In the directing of 2009, the film The Box - You are the experiment , took Cameron Diaz and James Marsden , the lead roles.
Kelly also wrote the scripts for his films. Since 2009 he has also worked as a producer, u. a. he was involved in Operation: Endgame .
