Richard Lee (martial artist)
Richard Lee (Korean .: Lee Tai Bong) (* 18 June 1933 in Hawaii , USA ) is an international, American grandmaster of the martial arts and winner of the 9th Dan Tang Soo Do . He is the founder of Kukjae Solimsa Do (Korean for: Shorinji-ryu International) and learned karate , Kobudo and Tai Chi until 1982 under the style founder of Shorinji ryu Richard Kim (* 1917; † 2001), Hanshi, 10th Dan.
Martial arts
- 1947 At the age of seven, he began training in Judo in Honolulu.
- In 1957 he became a student of the grand master Richard Kim and began studying the martial arts Shorinji Ryu (Karate, Kobudo, Tai Chi).
- 1962 1st Dan Shorinji Ryu Karate, Zen bei Butoku Kai .
- 1964 2nd Dan Shorinji Ryu Karate, Zen bei Butoku Kai.
- 1968 3rd Dan Shorinji Ryu Karate, Zen bei Butoku Kai | 1st Dan Aikido .
- 1969 arrival in France.
- 1970 5th Dan Shorinji Ryu Karate, Zen bei Butoku Kai.
- 1982 Leaves Butokukai International and Butokukai France . Founds his association Shorin Ji Ryu International (SJRI).
- 1990 Renaming of his association to the Korean name Kukjae Solimsa Do International.
- 2001 9th Dan Tang Soo Do, Fédération Française de Taekwondo et Disciplines Associées (FFTDA) . He establishes Tang Soo Do in the FFTDA.
