Richard Martin Stern

Richard Martin Stern (born March 17, 1915 in Fresno , California , † October 31, 2001 in Santa Fe , New Mexico ) was an American writer. In 1959 he was awarded the Edgar Allan Poe Award for the best first novel for his novel The Bright Road to Fear (German title: No way back ) . His novel The Tower (1973) served as one of two literary models for the disaster thriller Flaming Inferno (1974).

Stern wrote a lot. 55 novels were published in German alone.
