Richard Neudorfer

Richard Neudorfer (born November 17, 1900 in Rustorf ; † January 31, 1977 in Wels ) was an Austrian educator , local researcher , conservationist and writer .

Live and act

Richard Neudorfer was initially a primary school teacher , among others in Mitterkirchen im Machland (1934 to 1938) and in 1936 became principal school director in Wels.

From 1926 he wrote articles on local history and natural history and descriptions of nature, etc. a. for the magazine Heimatgaue and published novels in the "German-Völkisch" sense. The Leopold Stocker Verlag advertised him in 1938 as “Heralds the home of the Führer”. In 1939 he was appointed by August Zöhrer to be the district authority for Wels.

In 1941 he enlisted in the Wehrmacht . After the war , he was sentenced to three years in prison for illegal party membership ( NSDAP ), incorrect registration and denunciation. Some of his works were banned in 1949 by the Central Commission for Combating Nazi Literature or put on the delivery list, as was the case in the GDR , where his novels Ein Rufer in deutscher Not. Grenzlandroman from the German Ostmark (Stocker, Leipzig and Graz 1937) and Jürg Engelprecht. A German Wehrbauer (Stocker, Leipzig and Graz 1942) were put on the list of literature to be sorted out.
