Richard Peterkin

Richard Peterkin CBE (born April 18, 1948 ) is a Lucian sports official.

General

Richard Peterkin graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He holds a BA in Commerce from the University of Windsor .

After completing his studies, Peterkin worked as an auditor and corporate partner for various companies in Canada and St. Lucia. Since 1993 he has been Spain's Honorary Consul in St. Lucia.

Sports administration

Richard Peterkin, who actively played soccer and cricket, became President of the NOK St. Lucias in 1992. Since 2000 he has also been treasurer of the Pan American sports organization PASO . Since 2006 he has also held this position for the Association of National Olympic Committees (ACNO).

Activities within the IOC

In 2009 Richard Peterkin was elected an IOC member. He has been a member of the Marketing Commission since 2014 and the Women's Sports Commission since 2015.

Awards

In 2016 Richard Peterkin was awarded the Order of the British Empire . He received the order in the third stage as Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
