Richard Pibernik

Richard Pibernik (born November 7, 1972 ) is a German logistics scientist . He holds the chair for logistics and quantitative methods in business administration at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Life

Pibernik studied at the University of Frankfurt , where he also received his doctorate in 2001 and qualified as a professor in 2006 . From 2004 to 2007 he was Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Professor of Supply Chain Management within the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program at the Zaragoza Logistics Center (in Spain). After his return to Germany he held the chair for supply chain management at EBS in Wiesbaden. There he was also Head of the Department for Supply Chain Management and Information Systems and Vice Rector for Research. Pibernik is also Adjunct Professor at the Zaragoza Logistics Center, where he is a. a. Lectures in the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program and was Otto Mønsted Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School. Since January 2012 he has been professor for logistics and quantitative methods in business administration at the University of Würzburg.

Pibernik's research interests lie in the area of ​​quantitative methods for the management of global logistics and value creation systems. He has published numerous specialist articles and has been responsible for a number of international research projects. He has also worked with companies such as Lufthansa, SAP, Alcatel-Lucent.
