Richard Pick (archivist)

Richard Pick (born December 26, 1840 in Kreuzau , Düren district , † March 18, 1923 in Aachen ) was a German historian and archivist .

Pick was director of the Aachen city archives from December 1884 to 1911, and under his direction a reference library was set up , for which purchase funds from the regular budget were also available. He submitted a list of possible purchases to the Archives and Library Comité , and since the budget year 1885/1886, certain financial resources for the reference library of the city archives have been regularly shown in the budget, supplemented by gifts and donations from third parties.

Pick was the author of numerous historical essays and books on the history and art history of the western Rhineland.
