Richard Plant Bower

Richard Plant Bower (born March 1, 1905 in Kansas City , Missouri , † 1996 ) was a Canadian ambassador .

Life

Richard Plant Bower's parents were Mabel Truas Hamm and Thomas Toefiled. He attended Model School and Kelvin Technical High School in Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba until 1924. He married Barbara Helen Monteigh on August 27, 1931. Their children were Barbara Anne, Marilyn Diane, Robert Barry. He worked in the paper industry. Richard Plant Bower joined the foreign service in 1926. He was accredited as a trade commissioner in the Netherlands. As a result, he was in the Dutch East Indies, New Zealand, Australia, Newfoundland, which was then independent in the Commonwealth and accredited in the United Kingdom. When he was appointed Ambassador to Venezuela in 1956, he moved from the Industry Department of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From 1971 Richard Plant Bower was director of Trans Caribbean Shipping Ltd.
