Richard Roth (journalist)

Richard Roth (* 1955 ) is a journalist from the United States who has worked for Cable News Network (CNN) since the news channel was founded in 1980 .

Career

Roth studied journalism at New York University . After completing his bachelor's degree, he worked as a presenter and reporter for AP Radio and the New York television station WPIX, Channel 11. In 1980, he became an editor in the New York office of the news channel CNN, for which he later spoke about the second Gulf War , the case of the iron curtain and the Tian'anmen massacre reported.

As a correspondent at the United Nations in New York , he moderated the weekly program Diplomatic License , broadcast on CNN International from 1994 , which mainly reported on diplomatic negotiations and decisions of the UN in interviews with diplomats and journalists' talks. The broadcast was discontinued in 2006; he continues to work as a senior UN correspondent in New York.
