Richard Schrader

Richard Schrader (born June 10, 1911 in Bremen , † May 13, 1985 in Unna ) was a German CDU politician . He was mayor of the city of Unna.

Life and work

Schrader lived in Unna in his youth because his father was a Protestant theologian and pastor in the Unna parish. From 1932 he studied at the Technical University in Gdansk , where he graduated as a qualified engineer. He found work in Danzig and started a family there. After the end of the war he returned to Unna as a displaced person and was involved in the Protestant parish there. Richard Schrader died on May 13, 1985 at the age of 73.

Schrader joined the CDU after World War II . He was deputy mayor of the first Unna city council in September 1946. On November 2, 1948, he was elected mayor of the city of Unna in the local elections, and he held his office until December 5, 1952.

Richard Schrader was awarded the city's ring of honor for his extraordinary services to the city of Unna.
