Richard Starcke
Richard Starcke (also Starcke-Weimar, born December 6, 1864 in Naumburg (Saale) , † October 30, 1945 in Weimar ) was a German painter, illustrator and etcher. He was a representative of the Weimar painting school.
Starcke studied from 1880 to 1885 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin under Paul Thumann , from 1855 to 1888 at the Grand Ducal Saxon Art School in Weimar under Leopold von Kalckreuth . After graduating, Starcke was appointed professor at the Weimar Art School.
Richard Starcke was a member of the Weimar Etcher Association. He visited the Schwaan artists' colony .
He is buried in the historical cemetery in Weimar .
