Richard Tarnas

Richard Tarnas (born February 21, 1950 in Geneva , Switzerland) is Professor of Philosophy and Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and Head of Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness . He teaches clinical psychology and depth psychology at the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara .

Career

Tarna joined in 1972 graduated from the Harvard University from. He received his PhD from the Saybrook Institute in 1976 . Among other things, he deals with the connections between psychology and astrology .

His book Idea and Passion: The Paths of Western Thought , in which he deals with the development of the Western worldview, was a bestseller. It was written by Dietrich Schwanitz in his book Bildung.
