Richard Taswell Richardson

Richard Taswell Richardson (born August 9, 1852 in Broughton , † May 16, 1930 in Capenhurst ) was an English lawyer and tennis player.

Life

Richardson was born in 1852, the eldest son of Pastor Richard Richardson and his wife, Fanny. He attended Marlborough College and then began a law degree at the University of Oxford , which he graduated in 1875. He joined the Inner Temple Chamber in 1879 as a lawyer .

As a passionate tennis player, he took part in the Wimbledon Championships from 1880 to 1883 . In 1882 he reached the finals of the All-Comers competition there, but had to admit defeat to Ernest Renshaw . From 1880 to 1883 he was able to win the Northern Association Championships , which were held alternately in Manchester and Liverpool .

He died in Capenhurst near Ellesmere Port in 1930 .
