Richard Wick
Richard Wick (born April 19, 1872 in Usingen , † March 24, 1955 in Bad Cannstatt ) was a German politician ( USPD , SPD ).
Life
Wick was born the son of a pastry chef. After completing primary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and worked as a machine fitter until 1905. Subsequently he was employed as a warehouse worker at the Frankfurter Konsumverein in Oberursel until 1927 , most recently as a warehouse keeper. From 1914 to 1916 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .
Wick joined the SPD and was from 1906 to 1914 member of the board of the social democratic organization of constituency 1 (Wiesbaden). From 1905 to 1930 he was a city councilor, from 1924 to 1929 head of the city council assembly and from December 1930 to 1933 a full-time councilor in Oberursel. From 1919 to 1930 he was a member of the district council and district deputy of the Obertaunuskreis . In protest he joined the USPD in 1917, for which he was sent as a delegate to the First Council Congress in Berlin one month after the November Revolution . In the Reichstag election in 1920 , he ran for the Reichstag , but received no mandate. On April 12, 1921, he replaced the resigned USPD MP Heinrich Hüttmann in the Prussian state parliament . From 1922 he was again a member of the SPD. He was a member of the state parliament without interruption until the end of the third legislative period in 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 19 (Hessen-Nassau).
After the Second World War , Wick was again politically active and was again a city councilor for the SPD in Oberursel from 1946 to 1948. In August 1947 he was appointed city elder. In July 1948 he moved to Bad Cannstatt, where he died in March 1955.
