Richwin von Naumburg , also Rihwin, Rivin, Ruwin († April 13, 1125 in Naumburg ) was bishop of Naumburg from 1123 to 1125 .

Life

Richwin's origins are unknown. He appeared in 1103 as a Naumburg cleric, was canon in Naumburg from 1118 to 1122 and was very close to the Naumburg Moritzstift. In 1123 he was appointed bishop of Naumburg and ordained by Rudgar von Veltheim . During his short term of office he campaigned for the use of the Mahlen forest near Kayna , consecrated the monastery church in Bosau , attended the funeral of Wiprecht von Groitzsch in 1124 and died the following year himself.

The grave slab of Bishop Richwin is in the Moritzkirche in Naumburg. It was created posthumously around the year 1260. The figure of the bishop was drawn into the sandstone slab in a simple scratch drawing (size of the slab: 2.10 m × 0.90 m). The following inscription refers to the memory of the bishop: "ANNO IN CARNATIONIS DOMINICE MC XX V INDI - ACOE III ID 'A (PRIL) (= April 13, 1125) O PJE MEMOIE RIWIN' NUENBGN EPC." There is also a picture of him Preserved as a scratch drawing, as well as on the south window of the Naumburg Cathedral in the west choir, from the 13th century.
