Rudgar von Veltheim (also Rotger, Rötger, Ruotger ; † December 20, 1125 in Magdeburg ) was Archbishop of Magdeburg from 1119 to 1125 .

Rudgar, Count von Veltheim , son of a father of the same name, was a canon in Bamberg, came to Magdeburg, entered the cathedral chapter here and was then promoted to archbishop treasurer and provost of the Bibra monastery. After the death of Adelgod , a relative of Rudgar , the bailiff of the archbishopric, Wiprecht von Groitzsch , pushed through the election of his nephew Rudgar as archbishop. Rudgar exposed himself to the wrath of Henry V because he swore Pope Calixt II under oath not to join either the emperor or the antipope Maurice Bourdin . With the settlement of the investiture dispute through the Worms Concordat , there was also a reconciliation between the emperor and the archbishop. Rudgar died on December 20, 1125 in Magdeburg after lying down with a fever for a long time. His body was buried in Magdeburg Cathedral.

Rudgar promoted the establishment of the Augustinian canons' monastery on Petersberg near Halle by the Counts of Wettin .

Friedrich III. von Pettendorf was Rudgar's brother and Heilika von Lengenfeld was his niece. His maternal grandmother, Sigena von Leinungen , was married to Friedrich I von Pettendorf for the second time . From Sigena's first marriage to Gaugraf Wiprecht I, his uncle Wiprecht von Groitzsch came from , who helped him to the bishopric.
