Ilse Ridder-Melchers
Ilse Hanna Ridder-Melchers (born September 28, 1944 in Hindenburg / Oberschlesien, today Zabrze ) is a German politician ( SPD ).
Life
Ilse Ridder-Melchers came to the Münsterland as a toddler and attended elementary and secondary school there. Then she worked as an intern in a children's home. In 1965 she graduated from high school in Münster.
In 1966, Ridder-Melchers joined the SPD. In 1969 she became a member of Coesfeld's city council and in 1972 parliamentary group spokeswoman. Before that, she had been a board member of the Young Socialists in the Münster sub-district from 1970. In 1976 she became a member of the board of directors of the SPD sub-district of Coesfeld. On January 17, 1977, she moved up on the state reserve list as the successor to Richard Grünschläger in the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament. At that time, Grünschläger became the district president in Arnsberg.
From January 17, 1977 to May 29, 1985, from November 7, 1985 to May 31, 1995, from January 4, 1996 to June 1, 2000 and from February 19, 2003 to June 7, 2005 she sat in the state parliament of North Rhine- Westphalia . From 1990 to 1998 she was the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister for Equality between Men and Women.
In 1999 she failed as a district administrator in the Coesfeld district . With 27.2%, it only reached second place.
From 2002 to 2006 Ilse Ridder-Melchers was a member of the Presidium of the German Sports Confederation and chairwoman of the Federal Committee on Women in Sport.
From 2006 to 2014 she was Vice President for Women and Equality in the German Olympic Sports Confederation .
Ilse Ridder-Melchers lives in Coesfeld in the Münsterland and has two children.
