The landscape surrounding the lake does not show any great differences in height, the vegetation is a mixture of meadows and forests of different ages. The Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout is found in the lake .
The lake is only accessible on foot via a hiking trail from the main road through the park .
The lake is slightly oval, its length is around 1.1 km, the maximum width is 0.8 km and the area around 0.7 km².
