The Rifugio Miserin (Ital.) Or refuge Miserin (fr.) (Ausspr on. Fr. . IPA : [mizʁɛ] ) is a refuge in Valle d'Aosta in the Graian Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2588  m on Lake Miserin within the municipality of Champorcher . The hut is managed from June to mid-September and during this time offers 40 mountaineers sleeping places.

The refuge is located within the Mont-Avic regional park, close to the high trail no. 2 of the Aosta Valley . The refuge is in the immediate vicinity of the Our Lady of the Snow Sanctuary . The small church was built in 1630 and is now a place of pilgrimage.

From Champorcher, drive towards the Mont-Avic Regional Park. At the end of the road, which ends as a gravel road, there is a parking lot.

The entire route from the car park near Dondénaz to the Miserin refuge, which is not difficult, takes around 1½ hours. Alternatively, from the Chardonney district, you can follow the high path no. 2 of the Aosta Valley. From there the walking time is 4½ hours.

The mountain lakes Ponton ( 2603  m ), Pontonnet ( 2809  m ) and Miserin ( 2665  m ) can be reached from the hut .

Transitions

  • Transition to the Sogno refuge - ( 2526  m ) over the Fenêtre de Champorcher pass ( 2827  m )
  • Transition to the Dondena refuge - ( 2192  m )
  • Crossing according to Plan Clavalité , at Fénis over the Col de Fénis ( 2831  m ).
  • Transfer to Ronco Canavese .
