The Rifugio Pian Grand is an unmanned hut consisting of two buildings on the Pian Grand, located on the ridge between the Misox and the Calanca Valley in Graubünden . The two roof-top huts belong to the Associazione Sentieri Alpini Calanca (ASAC) and are closed in winter. You are one of four overnight accommodations on the Sentiero Alpino Calanca , which is maintained by ASAC .
Location and surroundings
The huts are located at around 2400 m above sea level. M. on the edge of the Pian Grand basin, which opens to the east, below Piz Pian Grand, one of the peaks of the chain that extends between Calanca Valley and Misox in a north-south direction from the Zapporthorn to Piz de Groven.
history
The huts were built in 1985 by members of the ASAC as part of the development of the Sentiero Alpino Calanca . For details, see also Capanna Buffalora .

- From San Bernardino village via Alp d'Ocola and Alp d'Arbeolaca. 3½ hours
- From San Bernardino village via Pass di Passit, Pass de la Cruseta, Bocca di Rongaca. 4½ hours
- From Valbella via Alp de Trescolmen and Pass de Bedoleta approx. 5½ hours.
Tours / summit ascents
- Piz Pian Grand 2689 m above Bocca de Rogna, 1–2 hours.
- Cima de la Bedoleta 2626 m over the Ovest dell'Alta Burasca pass, 1–2 hours.
- Pass Ovest dell'Alta Burasca (Bedoleta Pass) 2514 m. ü. M. 1–2 hours
Transitions to other huts
- To Rifugio Ganan via Sentiero Alpino (Bedoletagrat 2514m - Lagh de Trescolmen - B. del Büscenel 2157m - Fil de Ciar 2346m) approx. 4 hours.
- from there to Capanna Buffalora via the Sentiero Alpino (Piz de Ganan 2412m - Lagh de Calvaresc 2214m - Buffalora Hut 2055m) in total approx. 9 hours from Pian Grand.
Attention! The section between the Bocchetta de Büscenel and the Fil de Ciar is heavily exposed and should only be walked in safe weather. If in doubt, ask in the Capanna Buffalora!
