The Rifugio Roberto Bignami (mostly just Rifugio Bignami , German also Bignamihütte ) is an alpine refuge in the Italian region of Lombardy in the Bernina Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2401 m within the municipality of Lanzada and belongs to the CAI - Milan section . The hut is open from mid-June to mid-September and offers beds for 70 mountaineers.
The hut is named after Roberto Bignami , an Italian alpinist who died in 1954 on Api in the Himalayas .
