The Rillenstein von Hollenbeck is a prehistoric Rillenstein and menhir in Hollenbeck , a district of Harsefeld in the district of Stade , Lower Saxony .
location
The stone was probably found during the construction of the forester's house in Hollenbeck in 1874 and placed in its front garden. In 1905 it was converted into a memorial stone and moved to Neukloster . In the 1950s it was brought to Stade , where it was exhibited in the Schwedenspeicher Museum from 1979 . Since 2015 he has been back in Hollenbeck, where he is integrated into an art object on the village square.
description
The menhir is elongated and has a triangular cross-section. It consists of fine-grained gray granite and has a total height of 1.1 m, of which 0.72 m are exposed. Its width is 0.62 m and its thickness 0.45 m. It has a circumferential groove with a width of 4 cm and a depth of 6 cm.
In 1905 an inscription was added in memory of a forester . This is only partially visible as the stone was later set upside down in a base.
