Rimundas Domarkas (born March 12, 1954 in Irkutsk Oblast ) is a Lithuanian conservative politician , former head of the Šiauliai district .

Life

After graduating from secondary school, Domarkas completed his diploma in electrical engineering at the Politechnikos institutas in Kaunas in 1977 and became an electrical engineer . From 1995 to 1997, he was the administrator of the Šiauliai district municipality . From 1997 to 2000 he was deputy head and from 2008 to 2010 head of the Šiauliai district. From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the council of the Šiauliai district municipality and from 1997 to 2000 and from 2011 to 2015 a member of the council of the Šiauliai municipality . From 2001 to 2007 he was general director of the Šiauliai Chamber of Commerce and from 2007 to 2008 he was administrative director of the municipality of Šiauliai.

From 1993 Domarkas was a member of the conservative party Tėvynės sąjunga .

Domarkas is chairman of the council of Šiaulių universitetas .

Domarkas is married. He and his wife, Palmira, have the daughter Ieva and the son Justina.
