Political orientation and relationship to the CDU

The RCDS BW is an independent student association, which is guided in its work by the Christian image of man, by the commitment to the free-democratic basic order and the awareness of solidarity-based responsibility, justice and tolerance. Membership in the RCDS is in no way tied to party membership of the Christian Democratic Union ( CDU ) in Germany. Nevertheless, there are occasionally personnel overlaps between members and officials of the RCDS and the Young Union (JU) and CDU. In addition, the state chairperson is a co-opted member of the state board of the CDU Baden-Württemberg .
