The Ringhoffer Cup was an ice hockey competition that was played both with the ball (known today as a bandy ) and later with the disc (or puck , today's ice hockey). At times it was considered the (international) Austrian championship and was hosted by the German Ice Hockey Society in Prague . The cup was donated by the Ringhoffer family of industrialists that gave it its name .
In 1913, the ice hockey competition with the ball was not held because the ÖEHV had announced its own championship. For this, a competition for ice hockey with the disc was held for the first time.
Held in 1911 (Bandy)
The tournament was held according to the rules of the German Ice Sports Association . Participants could register until January 16, 1911, whereby they had to pay an entry fee of 20 crowns (10 crowns for a second team). The games at the Belvedere in Prague were originally supposed to take place on February 2nd, 4th and 5th, due to warm weather the games had to be postponed to February 12th. The Leipziger SC and the Berliner HC had reported from Germany, but could not participate due to the postponement.
