The Rinner Trough is a deep sea channel in the Weddell Sea off the Luitpold coast of the East Antarctic Coatsland .

The channel is named after the Austrian geodesist Karl Rinner (1912-1991) at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . The designation was confirmed in June 1997 by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF).
