The Rinspeed R one is a concept vehicle from the Swiss automobile manufacturer Rinspeed . The car was presented to the public for the first time at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show and was considered an “innovation with tradition” at this first show after the turn of the millennium.

The R one is powered by a 120 hp (88 kW) four-cylinder engine in the rear, which accelerates the 97 centimeter high car to 100 km / h in around 5.9 seconds. The top speed is around 205 km / h thanks to the 830 kilogram aluminum body . The engine is equipped for bivalent operation, it can be operated with gasoline as well as with Kompogas made from green waste . According to Rinspeed, the design of the car is a mixture of Formula 1 and Le Mans vehicles and is therefore very aerodynamic. Among other things, there are three color cameras instead of rear-view mirrors, whose images are transmitted to the driver by two LCD screens integrated in the cockpit. The cockpit of the car is also a special feature of the vehicle thanks to the “DCCC”, the “Dynamic Cockpit Control Concept”.

The system adjusts the height of the entire driver's area, including all instruments, depending on the speed and thus varies between the highest position at a speed of up to 40 km / h and 30 centimeters below 75 km / h. Between the two speeds mentioned, the height can be freely selected between the two heights. When cornering, the entire cockpit tilts to the side like a motorcycle.
