This information should be able to be linked with other information (for example from social networks such as Facebook , Twitter , blogs and Foursquare ) in order to identify , locate and track users .

privacy

The US government classifies the technology as an EAR99 object under export guidelines ; accordingly, the software can be sold "without a license in most locations under most circumstances". It is not yet clear who will be allowed to use Riot in the future. Raytheon told the Guardian that the software had not yet been released. Most of the data is already relatively easy to grasp for those interested in computers; Riot only summarizes them in a bundle. Raytheon defends the program because it does not collect sensitive data such as social security numbers , bank accounts or other information about the financial situation.

marketing

According to the Guardian, Raytheon has not yet sold the software. It was passed on to US authorities and other companies in 2010 for research purposes and to help build a national security system. In April, Riot will be shown at a conference between US security agencies and industry.
