The Riptide Cirque (English for surf return flow boiler ) is a mountain boiler in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Convoy Range it is located immediately west of Mount Naab on the south face of Eastwind Ridge . It is traversed by ice masses that originate from glacier breaks at the head of the basin and flow into the Towle Glacier .
The mountain basin is one of the geographical features of the Convoy Range, which are named after terms from seafaring . The designation was made by a team who worked in this area from 1989 to 1990 as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program and which refers to the high flow speed of the ice masses through this mountain basin.
