The Risk Rock (from English risk , risk, peril, risk ” ) is an isolated cliff rock off the Graham coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In Crystal Sound, it is halfway between Cape Evensen and the Pesky Rocks before the entrance to Auvert Bay .
Aerial photos by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. from the years between 1956 and 1957 were used by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey for mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the rock that way in 1959 because it posed a danger to ships sailing the strait between Marie Island and the mainland coast southwards.
