Rita Gertrudis Bosaho Gori (born May 21, 1965 in Santa Isabel , Spanish Guinea (now Equatorial Guinea)) is an Equatorial Guinean - Spanish politician and activist .

Life

Rita Bosaho was elected in the 2015 elections in Spain to represent the province of Alicante in the Spanish Congress of Representatives. She is a member of Podemos . Bosaho moved to Spain - a born Spanish woman - at the age of four and lived with a family of a military father in Cádiz and Cartagena before moving to Alicante .

Bosaho is the niece of Enrique Gori Molubela , who was a member of the Cortes Españolas and who represented the Spanish colony of Fernando Po (now Bioko). She has a degree in history from Alicante University . For 23 years she worked as a nurse in the Alicante General Hospital. She has also developed activist work in the field of human rights, with a particular focus on reducing violence against women. Before she was elected to the national parliament, she ran for Podemos in the regional elections in Valencia in May 2015 . In November 2015, she was elected the top candidate on the Podemos list for Alicante, a decision that was challenged by opponents in the municipal council. After winning a seat in the December 2015 election, she was the first black MP in Spain.
