Rites of Spring is the first and last studio album by the band of the same name . It was first published in 1985.

Production and publication

The songs on Rites of Spring were all recorded in the spring of 1985 and produced by Ian MacKaye and Michael Hampton , among others . The album itself was released on vinyl under the label of Dischord Records in June of the same year .

In 1987 it was released again, this time on CD and cassette. In addition to the twelve tracks, the re-release also included the songs "Other Way Around" and four more from the EP All Through a Life, which was released shortly thereafter .

The band's 1991 compilation album, End on End , has the same cover print as Rites of Spring .
