Josef Ritler

Josef Ritler (* 1939 in Naters ), also known as “Sepp Ritler” or “Seppi Ritler”, is a Swiss journalist who photographed and wrote for the tabloid Blick for 40 years .

Life

Ritler went to school first in Naters, then in Brig . He was unable to finish his later apprenticeship as a bricklayer for health reasons. That is why he began training as a photographer in Lucerne .

He initially worked for various newspapers and the Swiss Army. When taking photos in the run-up to Expo64 in Lausanne, the eye finally caught sight of him. For 40 years he worked as a photographer as well as a journalist until his early retirement at the age of 64.

From autumn 2003 he worked occasionally as a VJ for the Swiss regional broadcaster TeleTell .
