The estate near the Deister had been in the possession of the Bock von Wülfingen family, who were related by marriage to the Count of Hallermund, who were also wealthy in the region, from at least the beginning of the 16th century . Bartold Bock of Wülfingen, a vassal of the Bishop of Hildesheim, was born on April 28, 1500 by Duke Eric I of Brunswick and Lüneburg with the castle to the Roede and accessories invested . In 1557 Brun Bock tho is called the Bockerode . His brother Wulbrand prescribed his wife, Meta Bock von Nordholz, to raise the house for body breeding .

Today's mansion in framework construction was probably built in 1736 on the foundations of the destroyed by fire castle. It is a two-storey, six-axle house with a half-hipped roof, which was enlarged by two gables in the middle of the 18th century and an extension in 1920/21. A new mansion from 1868 still stands on the estate. The farmyard, the gardener's apartment and other functional buildings are grouped around the manor house. The farm yard and large parts of the property were sold after the Second World War.

The entire estate is a listed building .

In 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 the international agricultural exhibition PotatoEurope took place on the estate .
