Manor of the Kronsberg Manor (1912)

The manor Kronsberg was located in what is now the Mittelfeld district of the Lower Saxony state capital Hanover in Lower Saxony . It was built in 1857 as an estate on Kronsberg and became a manor in 1890 . During the Second World War in 1943, aerial bombs destroyed the buildings.

The manor originates from an estate belonging to the von Alten family in Laatzen , which was formed from four Vollmeierhöfe in the middle of the 19th century . When the estate was destroyed by fire, Count von Alten acquired lands on the Kronsberg. There he set up a new estate with a manor house and farm buildings on the west side of the elevation in 1857 . The estate did not remain in his possession for long, as it had already been sold to a Hanoverian merchant by the name of Jacobsohn in the early 1860s. Another owner was the Amtsrat Gudewill from the Grohnde domain . At the beginning of the 20th century the estate belonged to Hermann Kamlah.

In 1922, the Stephansstift from Hanover acquired the property to accommodate young people. During the air raids on Hanover , the manor buildings were largely destroyed on September 22, 1943, killing three young people.

Location of the manor, nowadays the exhibition center and hotel complex, on the right the Messeschnellweg and the exhibition grounds

In 1961 the property was sold to the city of Hanover. The Parkhotel Kronsberg opened in 1965 and is located directly on the Messeschnellweg . On the former estate there is a small wooded area called the Messewäldchen . It is named after the Hanover Exhibition Center , which is on the opposite side of the Schnellweg.
