location

The manor Planschwitz is located in Kirchpöhlweg in the south of the town center.

history

The noble von Sack von Planschwitz family had their ancestral home in the village, initially on Planschwitz Castle, first mentioned in 1297 and now gone, in the center of the village. "Ulricus Saccus de Plonswicz miles" is documented this year. The manor house in Planschwitz was mentioned in 1445 as a knight 's seat and in 1606 as a manor . The owners of the manor include the von Tettau (1586), von Zedtwitz , von Neuberg , von Falkenstein and von Trützschler families . The Trützschler family sold the estate in 1788 to the bourgeois Erdmann family, who owned the Hasse (1829), Schneider, Hirsch (1893) and Rinn (from 1911) families, which were expropriated in 1945 as part of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone . In 1948 the community of Planschwitz took over the manor house and used it as a school until 1970, then as a residential building. The preserved buildings are in good condition today and belong to different owners.
