Giuseppe Masini

Giuseppe Masini (born August 1, 1916 in Pisa ) is an Italian filmmaker.

Life

Masini studied law at the "Accademia d'Arte Drammatica" in Florence . From the 1940s he worked parallel to his military career in the Air Force as an assistant to Giovacchino Forzano and Luigi Chiarini . He then made a name for himself as a documentary filmmaker for the Istituto Luce and directed advertising films for the armed forces. In 1952 he directed his first feature film, L'ingiusta condanna , based on his own script , which was only followed by two more cinema works until he directed the Italian version of The Lady of Atlantis in 1961 . In the 1960s he wrote three scripts; otherwise he was active as a production manager, u. a. Antonio Margheritis in some films .

After giving up his film career in 1969 in favor of his military, he returned behind the cameras in 1992 for a number of television films on the history of aviation.

Masini is also the author of a book on the Italian Air Force.
