content

Major White, a former army officer, is killed in the small western town of Owell Rock. An eyewitness reports that the killers were led by Doc Lester, the eldest son of a neighboring family. The witness is overwhelmed by Lester's men on the way to the judge and the village doctor forced to cut out his tongue.

Fifteen years later, Colonel Pearson's daughter Lawrence White and Lisabeth arrive at Owell Rock - on the way they survive an attack by Lester's men who are terrorizing the area. A wandering cowboy, Harry Boyd, who is in good shape, helps the victims defend themselves. Lawrence learns from his sister Jane that the property was the cause of the murder at the time, which was eventually framed on a Mexican, Rodríguez, who had fled. The apparently rabbit-footed Lawrence has to see how the gang of Lester gradually murder the honorable citizens of the city.

Harry Boyd is also in town and is assigned to arrest or kill Lawrence, who is blamed for the murders. However, both work together, because Boyd is actually the son of White and Lawrence is Jane's fiancé. The two judges turn over all evidence to Warren, but then fall into a trap of Lester's people. They manage to turn everyone off. Lawrence personally turns Doc Lester over to Judge Warren.

criticism

"Boring serial western with the usual brawls."

  • Christian Keßler writes about Freda's only western: "Juicy roles for everyone (...) in a western that is not great, but completely satisfactory."
  • Bruckner describes the film in For a few more corpses (Munich, 2006) as entertaining and well-photographed .

Remarks

Director Freda: “I only had a small budget and the production cut the violent scenes considerably. It was a revenge story, but they broke my rhythm, my set-up. That's why I also used the pseudonym ”.

The film song Danny is sung by Raoul .
