The Riu ō Te Ata Valley is a small and largely non-iced valley in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is north-northeast of Mount Morning on the south side of Lake Morning .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it 1994. His from the Māori borrowed name means "Valley of the morning" and aims at Morning ( German morning ), one of the two rescue ships of the British Discovery Expedition (1901-1904).
