The Lake Morning ( New Zealand Morning Lake called) is a 3 km long lake on the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located 15 km north of Mount Morning on the eastern edge of the Koettlitz Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1963 based on the name of Mount Morning. Its namesake is the Morning , one of the two rescue ships of the British Discovery Expedition (1901–1904).
