The River Frome is a river in the English county of Somerset .
River Frome is the name of several rivers in South West England. The name comes from Old English and means something like "active" or "good" in German.
The river emerges on Bungalow Farm east of Upton Noble in the Mendip Hills . The river flows in a northerly direction through the town of Frome , at the northern edge of which the Mells River flows into the Frome. East of Freshford the Frome flows into the Avon .
