The River Laver is a watercourse in North Yorkshire , England . It arises from the confluence of the South Gill Beck and North Gill Beck west of Dallow . It initially flows in an easterly direction. Between Laverton and Galphay it turns south, then again east of Grantley to take an easterly direction. It flows into the River Skell on the western edge of Ripon .
