The Rivergate is an office complex in the 20th district of Brigittenau am Handelskai 92 in Vienna. The building in close proximity to the Millennium Tower and the Danube was opened in several stages in 2010 and has around 50,000 m² of rental space, of which 27,500 m² is office space in the south Gate 1 and 17,600 m² on Gate 2 to the north are allotted. The remaining areas are for shops, restaurants and storage areas.

The building was erected after an architectural competition was invited according to plans by the architects Auer + Weber + Assoziierte and is 51% owned by Raiffeisen-Leasing and Raiffeisen Zentralbank, and 49% owned by Signa Real Estate.

Establishment

The Rivergate was developed by Signa Holding owned by Innsbruck real estate investor Rene Benko , with construction costs estimated at around 120 million euros before the start of the project. The civil engineering work began on September 3, 2008, and the building construction began on January 12, 2009. After the topping- out ceremony on October 22, 2009, a model office was opened in February 2010, the building was completed in June 2010. In May 2010, the opening of a grocery store and a drugstore began. A total of 4,500 tons of steel, 37,000 cubic meters of concrete and 315 tons of steel girders were used in the Rivergate.
