The Rivière Caraquet is an approximately 38 km long tributary of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in the Canadian province of New Brunswick .
River course
The Rivière Caraquet has its headwaters east of Teagues Lake , 55 km east of the city of Bathurst . It flows in a predominantly east-northeast direction through the north of the Acadian Peninsula to the Baie de Caraquet , a south-eastern side bay of the Chaleur Bay . The estuary is 7.5 km west of the port city of Caraquet . The Route 11 crosses the river shortly before the mouth.
Hydrology
The Rivière Caraquet drains an area of around 215 km². The mean discharge at the gauge 12.5 km above the mouth is 3.69 m³ / s. In April and May the river carries the largest amount of water, averaging 10.5 and 9.88 m³ / s.
