The Riviera Point is a headland on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . In the Vestfoldberge area , south of the Australian Davis station , it marks the southern boundary of the entrance to Heidemann Bay .
Australian scientists named them after the comparatively mild climate that prevailed here, which reminded them of the Mediterranean Riviera .
